Empowering Vulnerable Children

Founded in 1996 by Harry Leibowitz and Kay Isaacson-Leibowitz, the World of Children Foundation aims to improve the lives of children in vulnerable conditions worldwide. Over the past 25 years, the foundation has grown and collaborated with more partners who champion a similar course in different parts of the world.

The foundation aims to establish a community of like-minded individuals and entities dedicated to the welfare of vulnerable children. Consequently, since its inception, World of Children has been actively identifying, verifying, and financing transformative programs that help address pressing issues, such as safety, education, hunger, and human rights, affecting vulnerable children.

So far, the World of Children Foundation has dedicated over $15 million to support programs aligning with its mission. Approximately 130 domestically and worldwide organizations have benefitted from the Foundation’s financing. Moreover, the Foundation bestows the World of Children Award to organizations that have made a remarkable impact on children’s lives. The media, including the New York Times, has likened these awards to the “Nobel Prize for Child Advocates.”

World of Children, aiming to be a global philanthropic resource, depends on donor contributions to sustain its operations. It encourages individuals to donate to support humanitarian initiatives, such as Ukraine crisis relief efforts led by Chernobyl Children International. Donations help provide essential supplies such as medication and food for needy children.
